Aims & Objectives

The overall aim of POLITICS is to enable through the use of Web 2.0 technologies school students, VET trainees and adult learners, specially immigrants undertaking 'citizenship' programmes, to develop a better understanding of how modern society functions and at the same time participate in active online collaborative learning and develop skills in problem solving, communication and language learning and writing skills.


POLITICS is a digital storytelling projects, which adds creativity into everyday learning and puts learners into the shoes of authors and uses ICT as a catalyst for innovation and creativity in lifelong learning. IT’s objectives are to:

  1. Create POLITICS portal, which enables access to selected Web2 tools. Portal will provider partners finding tool, repository for available content, different set of "community building" tools. During research work is done to get to know which Web2 platforms are used more intensively among user groups, so those can be involved in the project.
  2. Provide POLITICS learners with a draft story ("Straight into Politics" by Mihkel Pilv) and content (500 learning objects), which facilitate learners while they are writing their own POLITICS ebook.
  3. Create a POLITICS guide, which provides a pedagogical background and organizational help on how to use POLITICS.
  4. Create a POLITICS community and network of interested learning institutions so they will use POLITICS year after year during certain periods of time in the year. Also open POLITICS to informal learning communities.
